V5 LLM Transition - Common Issues 

Wording matters - The model is sensitive to specific words and concepts in backstory. Certain words, especially in directives, can trigger unexpected behaviors.

Verbosity (and associated - narrating for user, jumping ahead, etc) - By default, verbosity will be higher. Enabling multi-paragraph responses will likely extend this further. Using an example message and directives will help, but normal chatting should not result in excessive verbosity unless you’re actively encouraging descriptiveness. In addition, new AI dynamism is 0.95. Default for existing used to be 1.20 which will encourage more verbosity so we encourage you to turn dynamism down.

New AIs created will have a system directive on creation of "be conversational and succinct". Existing users can add this in if you want less descriptiveness and more conversational style.

  • Example directive:
    • Be concise and succinct.
    • Varies response length from short to medium-long.
    • Limits responses to less than X characters, including spaces.

Hyperactive/emojis/etc: check your dynamism. 1.20 is now high on v5, and we recommend starting at 0.95 and adjusting.

Flirtiness - Some traits may more easily trigger this, as well as connotative words like “single.” You can be more specific in the backstory. Dynamisms above 1.0 will also likely increase flirtatious responses.

Repetitive phrases or patterns that show up over time:

  • Use suggestions to avoid repetition or include directives to prevent it.

Kindroid is not sticking to desired formatting:

  • Include an example message showing the desired response format.
  • Alternatively, use a chat breakpost with an example message.

Technical tips if you’re struggling: 

  • Create an “Important:” section when editing backstory for Dos and Don'ts, be very concise.
  • If you feel frustrated, it’s best to continue using the previous version of the LLM until you’re ready to give it another try.



Error Messages

"<<ERROR>> Beep boop the server melted - please wait a minute and regenerate this response."

  • This means there's an error on the server side and is NOT an error on your side. You should regenerate the message to continue the chat.

Error on interpreting link, make sure it's valid (try copy-pasting if in doubt).

  • This means that there may be an issue with your link, and if the link is valid, it may mean the server has issues. Try again after a while.

For all other errors, read it carefully and follow its instructions, and if it's hard to read and has code, send a report to [email protected] and support will take a look.



Deleting an Account vs. Deleting a Kindroid

Deleting Account: (Main menu > General > Bottom small red text).

  • Deleting an account will purge all data, requiring you to start over with a new account. This means all Kindroids & data will be deleted. This is the only option for free users who only have 1 Kindroid to re-make their Kindroid.

Deleting a Kindroid if you have multiple (My Kindroids > triple dots on top right of Kindroid profile picture).

  • Deleting an individual Kindroid will only impact the data of the one being deleted.
  • The delete triple dots will only show up if you have more than one Kindroid.
  • You can only delete a non-active Kindroid - create another or switch to another Kindroid to delete your current one.

Technical Note: Free subscribers with only one Kindroid must delete the account to start over.



Issues with text chat

There are repetitive phrases or style that shows up over time.

  • Use suggestions to avoid repeating ("rewrite the last message but avoid repeating the phrase x"), or put in directives to avoid repetition ("avoid repeating y"). 
  • Increasing dynamism and having more varied user inputs will also help.

When the AI is responding, it gets stuck and never sends a response.

  • If the orange dots do not go away after 2 minutes of waiting, click on the three orange dots on the bottom to open up the menu to get un-stuck and follow instructions there.

My AI is narrating for me/too verbose/too terse/repeating certain words/has bad memory, etc.

  • With most cases, suggesting a change can often fix it (see Suggestions), and regenerate if you'd like to redo the response. If not, we typically recommend a chat break to see if it was a one-off fluke. If that fails, then look toward backstory - do you have traits that might push them to be verbose (often correlated with narrating), too terse? When I receive a response part of the message disappears.

  • Turning off Multi-paragraph mode can cause this issue. For example, when your Kindroid is creating a list, it may start with a new paragraph. If Multi-paragraph mode is off, the rest of the message will be blank, as the Kindroid won't be able to add a new paragraph.



Issues with Voice call

"Allow narrations on call" is disabled, but my Kindroid still narrates.

  • This feature is available only in v4 and is not supported in v3.



Issues with Android or iOS

When logging into the app, there is just a blank screen (web or mobile app not loading).

  • This typically happens when the app is being blocked by the ISP or Network. Try switching networks or using a VPN.

Sound is not playing through Bluetooth headset on Voice calls for iOS.

  • While on an active Voice call, go into the device command center and toggle from Bluetooth to phone, then back to Bluetooth.

Technical Note: This may need to be done for each call. Currently, this issue appears to be occurring for some iOS devices and is beyond our control due to the device's firmware.

Unable to log into the web application (Log in stalls or times out).

  • The likely cause may be related to pop-up blockers, extensions, or third-party add-ins. Try launching your session in a Private/Incognito browser, which disables some browser add-ons while using default settings.
  • There could be network firewalls blocking the connection to the server. Make sure there are no blocks for kindroid.ai services or try using the service with a VPN enabled.



Issues with selfies

When generating a selfie or auto selfie, the image is blank or a solid color with spots.

  • This typically happens when the weight of words in the prompt or avatar description is above safe margins. Check for things like "age: 24" and make sure not to use colons followed by high numbers; instead of colons, try commas instead.

Selfie is stuck while generating a new image.

  • If it's been more than a few hours (over 5 hours) and your Kindroid is still stuck with sending this selfie, select the selfie that is stuck and chose the option that says, "delete this stuck selfie." This may be due to a server issue, so check Discord & Reddit for temporary outages.
